Second year Day 7 - Thursday December 20, 2012

Well, to add to our busy week we ended up going into town again today.  Bridgett and I took Arrianne in to a couple of appointments and we did a little more Christmas shopping in between.  I had the girls help out with getting things for the Christmas stockings.  I can't believe that I started shopping only a few days ago and I am already done today.  Of course, we aren't very extravagant at Christmas ever, and this year we are holding it down a little more than usual.  The girls and I are doing a little more baking and candy making today and that's always fun.  Bridgett's job today (every Thursday) is to help out making a menu for the week.  It's interesting to see what she is remembering these days about holidays.  She remembered lots of things but struggled remembering our traditional Christmas breakfast.  She remembered parts of it and we cued her on the rest.  Another thing Bridgett is supposed to do to help her eyes is called far point/near point.  I ordered an eye chart for her and then Mark took it to Insty Prints and they copied it and shrunk it.  She is supposed to sit in front of the wall chart and look at it, then down to the small copy and read the same letter on both.  Then she slowly moves down the list, switching back and forth between the wall copy and the handheld copy.  This is teaching her eyes to focus back and forth..distance to near point...hence the name far point/near point.
