Second year Day 72 - Saturday February 23, 2013
When I say we need two adults around here, I need to clarify. Bridgett doesn't need someone taking care of her every minute. However, if we are going to continue with her program every day, someone needs to be actively engaged with her lots of the time. In between, she is very content to read, or spend time on the ipad playing Mahjong (her new favorite game), flow (which she calls color flow) or doing other puzzles. She has played flow for months and has mastered all the grids through 9 X 9. She seems to remember just what she needs to do and just whips through those grids so, I guess Mahjong gives her some new challenges. Anyway, during the day she just needs someone directing her, helping get her on her computer programs, doing eye exercises with her, giving her thinking questions, doing math with her, giving her sequences, helping find appropriate youtube videos to watch, reminding her to ride the exercise bike, reminding her to journal etc, etc, etc. I have a list that we go through each day. We had enough partial days of program during the time I was helping Jenn that I just hate missing out on any more days of progress! Today was a pretty quiet day and Stephany was feeling a little better. Tyler is out at drill somewhere on the base in Helena, camping out in the cold. Mark was able to spend the day at home with us, with the exception of the time he went shopping for me. I made the grocery list and then reorganized it in order of how he would walk through the store. Mark never really shops--so he's pretty slow at finding things (and hates to ask!). Anyway, he got everything we needed and that really helped!
