Day 279 - Tuesday September 18, 2012
We saw Brian today for a massage and that went well. He said there were many knots and that the pain is muscular in nature only. He said that when she sneezed she got a mini whiplash. He also did ultrasound on Bridgett's neck. We have a small ultrasound unit that we used for Arrianne's foot when she had the fractured sesamoid bone. I have been reluctant to use it yet on Bridgett's neck because ultrasound units can cause a problem for healing fractures. I don't want to cause any additional problems even though we have been told the fracture is healed and OK; I just wanted to check with someone first before using it. Brian said it is just fine to use twice a day and may help her pain level so that we can cut back on pain killers. Great! I also asked about the TENS unit we have and he said that's fine to use as well. Additionally he sold us a thing to rest your head on that helps the neck muscles relax and so the neck is not bowed backwards from the neck spasm. Bridgett should lay on it twice a day for 10-15 minutes. I will get the exact name for the thing and post it later.
