Second year day 296 - Saturday October 4, 2013
This weekend is general conference, and the conference is of course broadcast on the TV on regular channels here in Utah. Faith came at 10:00 and worked until 12:00 so we missed the first session, but we watched the programs in between, which were really good. She came again at 2:30 and so we missed most of the second session as well, but then Stephany figured out that the conference was being rebroadcast two hours later on another channel, so we were able to watch the entire second session from 4-6. That was very neat, and we really enjoyed the talks so much. It was the most that we get of meetings on a Sunday, as we can't do that much of regular church. We will be on the same schedule tomorrow with Faith, so we will do the same thing then. So, today we had a big fiasco! Bridgett and I got up and had breakfast and went walking at Walmart. Suddenly she said that she just felt sick all over so we hurried to the check out, as we had a couple of small things to pay for. Just as we were checking out, Bridgett got that look before she crumbles and passes out. I stood behind her and asked the cashier to call for a wheelchair quickly, which she did. Bridgett started to go down, but since I was behind her with my arms around her, I was able to just sit her down gently to a sitting position and then lean her against my legs. She was so wobbly! Someone showed up on the run with the wheelchair, and then two people helped me get her up and into the wheelchair. I rolled her out to the car and then helped her into the seat, after letting her get her bearings. It was still very cold this morning, and we didn't want to be too slow about it!! Anyway, we drove back to the hotel and Bridgett told me she felt fine and wanted to go in. I said, no, we will sit in the car and just visit for about 20 minutes and let you get feeling really good, and then go in. Meanwhile I sent Faith a text and she said that she would come an hour earlier then planned (our appointment was for 11:00). After the 20 minutes, Bridgett had color back in her cheeks, was talking fine, etc and said she felt just great, so we got out of the car and went into the hotel. We made it as far as the elevators and then she said she was going down again. Again, I was standing behind her and grabbed her and just let her down gently. We had an audience, as housekeeping was there (two nice gals) and the elevator arrived just then, filled with six other guests. Anyway, everyone else panicked, the hotel offered to call an ambulance, people cleared out of the way, etc. I said I just need to get her upstairs to bed and asked for a wheelchair. They didn't have one, but got me a rolling office chair and helped me get her up into it. Someone stayed with me all the way to the room and made sure I got her into bed before leaving with the chair. Anyway, it was kind of crazy! Faith showed up and tested Bridgett and it was the medication (DUH!) causing the problem. So, no more aricept. Actually, she was woozy the rest of the day and night. Faith said we will just have to let it wear off, although she did some balancing work that will help things along a little bit.
