Third year Day 84 - Friday March 7, 2014

I'm always on the lookout for new information about Traumatic Brain Injury.  I recently ordered a new book called "If I Only Had a Brain Injury" by Laura Bruno.  I had actually read something that she had written on the internet about her recovery and felt I wanted to read the entire book.  She had a mild TBI and suffered quite bit from that.  Her story is very interesting.  One thing that immediately jumped out at me was her chapter dealing with Lyme Disease; her husband was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.  Anyway, this prompted me to investigate Lyme Disease testing for Stephany.  Actually, one of our dogs died about five years ago from Ehrlichia, Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. We live in a heavily wooded area and often see tics here.  I have asked doctors before about Lyme testing for Stephany, but everyone kind of skates over the idea.  Now I am insisting on testing.  I called the main lab that does the testing, Igenex.  They said there are only three providers in the state of Montana that use their services, one in Billings, one in Helena, and one in Missoula.  I got the name of the Missoula ND and made an appointment for Stephany, although they could not see her until sometime in April. At least it is worth checking out and can't do any harm.
