Day 152 - Monday May 15, 2012

So now we have to all get back in the groove of things.  There was a lot of unpacking and organizing to do today.  We had a lot of things in Utah, including a small office set up for me--with payroll files, etc.  Life goes on, even when big things happen. There was still bi-weekly payroll, although I thankfully had someone I called to help out for the first two months while we stayed at the hospital with Bridgett.  Life was too crazy then to even contemplate anything on a regular schedule outside of the hospital.  There were still taxes to get done--corporate returns and personal returns, including Bridgett's taxes. In March I helped Arrianne file her taxes and Tyler file an extension as all of his receipts were at home.  My receipts were all organized and I had files that Mark could just bring to me--so all of that went smoothly.  But, it did mean that I had lots to pack up and bring back home to file here.  So, much of the day was involved with all of that, and there's still lots to do!  Oh well, no stress--it will get taken care of some time this week.  One unfortunate thing....Mark didn't have time to get the hand held shower thing put up in the bathroom although we had the shower chair.  So, usually Bridgett takes care of the shower stuff herself, but sits on the chair while I do her hair.  With her neck problems it has been the only way to get that accomplished.  Anyway, the doctors released her for activities with no restrictions (I guess thinking we'd monitor because she obviously can't and shouldn't do just anything--like water ski) and her neck hasn't been hurting at all, so I let her stand and wash her own hair.  Not too long after that I noticed that she was standing crooked with one shoulder up and she was acting like her neck hurt.  I asked if she was having any pain and she said yes my neck really hurts.  Pretty soon she couldn't hardly move at all.  I had to end up giving her lortab that had been prescribed for her for neck pain and putting a rice bag on her neck.  She was so sore and stiff that we had to lift her up off of the bed.  I guess now we know that she can't wash her own hair yet.  I know that the physical therapist has told Tyler (regarding his neck pain) that having both hands over head is a tough position for neck pain (as in pull-ups). Anyway, otherwise it was a good day and Bridgett was in a very happy mood all day (although she's really always in a happy mood!).
