Day 157 - Saturday May 19, 2012
I don't have Stephany here with me to tell you exactly what--but Bridgett played one of the Mario games tonight!!! She just started and played right along, remembering to do everything that she should and beat a level and just kept going. She remembered about shooting power, flying power etc. Anyway, it was fun and very neat to see! The kids all cheered Bridgett on and she played for quite a while. I am excited to get the guitar hero hooked up because that is something that she loved to play--and she was awesome at it! It will be fun to see what she remembers and what her hands remember. She has great dexterity and loves to do things with her hands, so that will be a great thing I am thinking. This afternoon Bridgett played cards with us--for like almost two hours! She was having a great time, shuffling, counting points for everyone that got caught, etc. She of course played great and mostly never had points. We all had a great time together. Also, Bridgett asked me to make her a cake----a real cake with frosting she qualified. So, I made a yellow cake (gluten free of course) and frosted it with chocolate frosting. She definitely approved. Bridgett seems to find a food that she really likes and then wants it all the time; lately this has been tacos. So, I am making chicken or steak tacos, with corn tortillas at least once every day for her. For dinner we try to get in something different besides tacos, but at least it's a pretty healthy thing to be stuck on! This morning Bridgett asked to watch a movie and the girls asked her what movie. She said I have a name in my head but I'm not sure if it's a movie or not. What's the name they asked and she said the Polar Express. Yes, it's a book and a movie and we have that movie. We can watch it later on today. So, that was a spontaneous memory with no prompts from us. Those are always nice! We will go to church tomorrow and try to stay as long as we can...... with Bridgett's neck hurting we may not make it long. Hopefully it will get feeling better soon--and of course it will be a long time until we let her try washing her own hair again!
